Repair Or Recycle
If your device is still functional, selling or repairing it might be a better option. Repairing a functional device can help the environment, by introducing less new parts into the consumer lifecycle. If your Phone has a bad battery, and you were considering buying a new one, and recycling it, simply doing a battery replacement might do it justice, with it typically being more cost effective than buying a new device, and better for the environment with less parts being introduced, and less manufacturing needed. If your device is still fully functional, selling it or trading it in might make more economic sense, as resources do not need to be recovered from the device yet, as it is still working. Selling your old, working device will give it a second life, which is better for the environment than if everyone bought new electronics.Â
